Sample 1]: Essay on Discipline
(238 words)
"Wise men preach discipline; great men practice it, while fools defy
it."
Discipline means some particular kind of training in self-control,
orderliness, obedience, and cooperation. Obedience is the very essence of
discipline.
Discipline is of great importance in our lives. Without it, we cannot
prosper. There cannot be any peace or happiness in the family if there is no
discipline. At school, no work can be done without discipline. Whether in a
family or in a school, without discipline, there is no proper functioning.
Discipline is needed in every sphere. In the playground, too, discipline
is very necessary. If a bowled-out batsman refuses to leave his place or a
referee’s whistle is disregarded in a football match, it is all over with the
game.
In society as well, there is a greater need for discipline. If the
individual members are permitted to do whatever they like, society will break
up and progress will come to a stop. Lack of discipline among the youth of a
country may endanger national security. For example, we can see the strict
rules of discipline in the military service. Discipline is important in the
army. If they are disciplined, they can win the battle.
To conclude, discipline is necessary in every walk of life. Life without
discipline is like a ship without radar. It is a tool to control the
thoughtless actions of man, so it is a precious asset to human beings.
[# Sample 2]: Essay on Discipline in Student's Life (256 words)
The way of doing activities according to the rules and
regulations prescribed by society's laws and systems is known as discipline.
One who follows discipline is called civilized, and one who doesn't do so is
called barbaric.
Discipline is needed in every walk of life. Whenever
discipline is neglected, something unbearable happens. If a driver opposes it,
an accident takes place. As with man and other creatures, it is needed in
nature, too. Floods occur when clouds become disorganized. When the wind does
so, a storm or hurricane comes; when the sun does so, sunstroke kills people.
If it is necessary for nature, why not for human beings? It is necessary for
roads, hotels, temples, bus parks, schools, colleges, libraries, governing
bodies, armies, players, and all other sectors of life.
So far as students are concerned, it is very much necessary
for them. They are the future of a country. If they know how to follow
discipline, they will guide our nation in a disciplined way. Our coming
generation will also imitate them. Students must arrive at their school on
time. They should follow classroom discipline. They should respect their
teachers and do as they say. They should follow the teachers by maintaining
peace. They should obey their parents. They should respect elders in society.
In this way, we see that discipline is necessary for all, but it is especially necessary for students because they are the backbone of our country and the whole world. They have to go to different sectors after getting an education.
