[# Sample 1]: Essay on Importance of Health (291 words)
Different people have different
opinions about health. Most people think that physical fitness is a sign of
health. Some people believe that "health" refers to the absence of
diseases or infirmities in the body. According to the World Health
Organization, "Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social
well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
It is said that a healthy body has a
healthy mind. We must eat nutritious food to be healthy. Our body needs certain
amounts of calories, which we get from rice, flour, green vegetables, fruit,
eggs, meat, fish, milk, etc. Our body needs fat, too. It does the work of fuel.
But too much fat is harmful. The peels of vegetables and fruit are beneficial.
A person can gain a lot of property to enjoy, but with a lack of good health,
he or she can't enjoy it successfully. Similarly, wealth once lost can be
regained, but health once lost can't be regained easily.
A person who has good physical fitness
but doesn't have a good mind is not healthy. Similarly, both physical and
mental fitness are of no use when he or she doesn't have good social relations.
We may follow different definitions of health, but we have to accept that
sufficient air, water, and food are very much necessary for good health. To
know about health, a person must be well-informed and well-educated. There
should be a balance between work and rest and between solitude and society.
In this way, health is the greatest
property of a person. It must be maintained adequately. Regular exercise must
be done, and polluted environments and stale or junk food must be avoided.
Cleanliness is one of the biggest ways to remain healthy forever.
